If it was in the endgame, yes. If the opponent has already passed once
and I need to play into their territory and - furthermore - I know that
what I am doing should not work anyway, no.

Different standards apply to humans and computers of course, most
notably the latter do not have a conscience or understand the value of a
win to a weaker player. However, once the program is aware that the game
is over and still plays into the opponents territory, something can be
probably be said about the personality of its creator...
