RE: computer-go: Interfacing 2 engines for automated play

Many of the strong programs do automated testing against other programs. It is
possible to do without any support of a protocol, as Michael Reiss does. Many of the
strong programs are exchanged at the competitions. I run test games against Goemate
from time to time. Most of my recent test games are on IGS. I get about 20 games a day,
against a wide variety of opponents. I prefer not to tune against a single opponent, since it
doesn't seem to help the playing strength as much.

I know that modem play does not explicitly give away techniques of play. But
over 100,000 automated games, a learning engine will notice certain weaknesses
in it's opponent. That's what I was trying to say.
