and from what I recall from it, he has considered

Well I guess there is nothing else anyone can do then...

If you read the discussions about alpha/beta+evaluationfunction
(beeing the wrong way) , you can know (IMHO) why David made
the choices he made.
If you read and understood the thread of posts that lead to this or even the short description in the latest post you would know we're not talking about the standard A/B search algorithm applied in the textbook way to go moves.

BTW: the A/B+eval discussion has been here forevere,
and is re-ignited every time new (chess-?) programmers
enter the scene, so it seems.
I'm not new to this list or computer-go and I'm not a chess programmer.
