Even so, I received some complaints about it, and was asked not to do this again.
why did people complain? can you recall some of their reasons for being upset?
They feel that they have given their day and travelled maybe 100 miles each way to play against "real" opponents.
i can understand that. but most of these people are from the local area. and maybe we would only do this if their opponent failed to show up in the section(s) where the comuters were playing. and also offer a small $ incentive if they win (as don pointed out) or offer them a choice. i would like to introduce computer play any way i can into the tournament.

http://www.intelligentgo.org/en/computer-go/events/past.html lists past computer Go tournaments.
wow, i had no idea that there were 4 last year.
Well - one of them consisted of a single game.
still. thats good. the more the merrier.

thanks
