I have a 9x9 program. It's largely based around GNU Go (similar to
slug go, but the details are quite different), and plays a fairly
competent 9x9 game. I would be very interested in playing it on a
server of any sort. KGS is somewhat less interesting because I object
to the closed protocol, for both philosophical and practical reasons,
but I would play on KGS if it was the most convenient way to get
meaningful computer-computer games. I would prefer and would
absolutely participate in an NNGS clone, or something written from
scratch (provided it was relatively straightforward to connect a GTP
engine to it).

I'm not actually available to help with any of the programming /
administrative details, but am very interested in participating if it
should appear. So, take this message with whatever weight you will.
