in no way did I intend to stop the discussion about a fractal
view of Go - I only wanted to avoid off-topic digressions about
the Towers of Hanoi. This puzzle came to my mind as Chris asked
for a game where a simple formula could be used to determine the
next move.

But since you asked: Yes, I believe that no fundamental insight
will be gained by a fractal view of Go. Evan has already expressed
what I think is true in this respect. But this is of cource only
my opinion, and as always in science, opinions may prove wrong.
