Is this expected to become a problem?
At the moment I don't think it is a major problem, but I'm not sure about all possible participants (see e.g., http://www.msoworld.com/mindzine/news/scandals/scandal0400.html).

The current Go programs are still weak and the stakes are not very high (no million dollar prices at the moment). However, as computers will get stronger in the future I think the atmosphere between (some) participants may become less friendly. In this context it is interesting to consider that the World Computer Chess Championship is still played manually over the board.

Of course there are technical solutions to overcome most problems, but I suspect that they will significantly increase the burden on the organizers. (The tournament director may have to be an expert in Go rules, network communication protocols, and security issues!)
