Oh, Tic-Tac-Toe. That game is trivial.
I didn't know there was a mathematical formula for playing Tic-Tac-Toe,
what is it? How about for genaralized Tic-Tac-Toe (n-in-a-row on a
p-by-q board)?

Yes, and pick-up sticks is the simplest Nim-like game and is easily
solvable by formula. Are these games really numerical ideas just masked
by designing a game around them? There is no element of strategy and
tactics.
Dave, what do you think about playing go using fractal formulas?
I just had a thought. How about trying something like this in reverse.
Use a mathematical concept/formula - maybe even a fractal, and try to
design a seemingly non-trivial two person zero-sum game from it. So
that if one knows the "secret" it's easy, otherwise it appears hard. Can
it be done? Maybe an example of something similar to Frank's concept
would help illuminate the idea/feasibility.
