Re: [computer-go] Scoring phase on KGS

would it be possible/easy to add the 'dispute' phase also for tournaments, even if it is 9*9 one (free games)? then it would be easy to make for example long-time-limits round robin 9*9 tournaments w/out requiring TD to be present to resolve disagreements...

mike

Yes, "dispute" phase is for ranked only. For most users, the dispute
phase would be more of an irritation than anything else, so when the
score isn't used for rankings, the client will let the user do whatever
they want during scoring (although it will still ask the engine what is
alive/dead and mark the stones, it just won't argue if the user then
changes these markings).

Does your engine play ranked games? If you would like to try out the
dispute phase, you can just try a few of them.

I'm not for forcing the user to accept the score of the engine
(although I know that our engine is good enough at recognizing dead
groups after the game ends) but I'd really like to see the game
played out in case of the dispute.
