As the driving force behind SlugGo I would like to chime in, but I do not yet understand some details about what you are proposing.

SlugGo is clearly a program that uses GNU Go to generate move choices, adding global lookahead that GNU Go does not do and including some additional evaluation that GNU Go does not do. Where would we sit in your proposed divisions?
