Re: [computer-go] how to use GTP in place of GMP

I like the idea, but am not sure about some details. We will have to see how
quickly the project comes together. First we want to get a bare-bones referee
in place that will allow our unix/OS X code to play against Many Faces and
Go++ and let "observers" connect as well. Once we get that far I think it likely
that we make the source available for others to add functionality. I am not
yet sure how much of the cluster I want to be busy as a referee, although
I would be pleased if a decent statistical sample of computer/computer Go
games were available.

Cheers,
David

For this a referee program in the middle to inspect and buffer the

stream seems like the best idea. Our group has just (today) started on
such a program. If it proves of interest, and I imagine it might given
the
volume of email on these subjects the last few days, we will gladly make
our code available in the normal GNU public license sense.
Would this program also handle the details or tournament pairings,
results, etc? If so, are you interested in also making it capable of
running an open internet go ladder, as was mentioned somewhere in this
thread? If so, I think it is a very interesting and useful project :)
