Re: [computer-go] go vision / webcam to sgf / Tuchola

there's a person in poland writing a program that tries to create an sgf from what it sees in the webcam. i saw this program in action, and it was quite impresive. it couldn't deal with players leaning over half the board with their heads, or with players playing very very quick sequences where they keep their hands over the table for 3-4 moves, but for whatit was used for (making it easier for the person who is trying to relay the game to igs) it was very cool. the guy entering the game could wander about, just looking from time to time if the program is not having a minor confusion somewhere...

if this is something you are interested in i can try to get the author to contact you...

mike

hi, i've been a member of this list for some time, keeping track of
computer-go progress. right now i'm at the US Go Congress in Tacoma,
where things are starting to move at a brisk pace, as about 500 people
are registered.

i heard that at the 2004 European Congress in Tuchola, some folks set
up a webcam and were able to output moves from a game played in Real
Life{tm}.

this technology interests me quite a bit, especially this week, so i'm
wondering if anyone on the list saw the previous work and can help me
find it, or its authors.

thanks!
